Professor Maria Hopman, M.D., Ph.D., did her medical and scientific training at the Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. In 2007, she became a professor in physiology. She is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, and she is a member of the Dutch Health Council (Gezondheidsraad). She has supervised almost 50 Ph.D. candidates and published more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific papers on exercise and health.
